- INTRODUCTION: squids and other cephalopods are animals that
- can change their skin colors and patterns, according to their
- mood, environnement or any other stimulus. Unlike chameleons,
- the changes are instantaneous and rather impressive. The changes
- are made with the help of colored cells called chromatophors,
- which can suddenly swell or shrink, thus changing the whole
- pattern of colors of the animal.
- This simulator is a first attempt in representing this phenomenon.
-
- USAGE: the user can change the number of colored cells (the
- size of the output window is then computed). There are five
- colors: black, white, red, green and blue. The cells are randomly
- distributed in the output window. By clicking somewhere
- in the output window, the nearest cell is activated and so are
- all the cells of the same color.
-
- NOTE: a better (and more complex) simulator would take advantage
- of a neural network to change the pattern more precisely.
